One Vision - October 2007
FROM THE TOP - PAUL MAGELLI, CEO Apertio
The desire to ‘know’ the customer and to ensure their identity are quickly becoming the cornerstones of effective new generation telecom strategies. For the past five years, Apertio has been proud to lead the drive to unlock customer information and hand back control of it to the operator.
I am delighted to announce the next stage of Apertio’s journey with our acquisition of Netzwert AG, one of Europe’s most innovative suppliers of telecommunications infrastructure. With this acquisition we combine the best of identity and policy to address the challenges so important to our customers. This exciting union will extend our portfolio of subscriber-centric applications with a market leading AAA (Authentication, Authorisation and Accounting) and BSF (Bootstrapping Server Function) to allow us to deliver increased value to our customers, partners and our growing eco-system of application vendors.
This edition of One Vision features an overview of the deal and a question & answer session with Netzwert CEO, Ralf Holighaus, and highlights how, by more tightly integrating the two companies roadmaps we can achieve the scale required by today’s communication service providers.
I am also delighted to introduce, Dr. Ray Barghi of Sprint Telecom. Ray is chair and a founding member of the newly formed open Subscriber Profile User Group. His article ‘Creating the Subscriber’s Network’ gives us an overview of this Operator group, its aims and objectives. Ray also provides an invitation to all operators to join this group and help shape the future of our customer centred marketplace.
Finally, in this issue we share the results of our comprehensive customer satisfaction survey - many thanks to all those who took part - and update you on all the news from Apertio since we last spoke.
I hope you enjoy reading this edition of One Vision, and will join with me in welcoming Netzwert to the Apertio family.
Paul Magelli
