Position reporting to: NDS Manager

Overall Objective:

NSN’s One-NDS is a highly robust open standards directory that sits at the heart of the network to create a single, centralised subscriber repository. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated graduate to join the NDS engineering team in Bristol.

The team provides a variety of support and development services for a complex, mission critical software product. External customers include a range of mobile, fixed and convergent network operators while internal customers include the operational support team, test teams, product managers, and other software development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshooting of customer problems
• Development of both routine and emergency support patches.
• Development and execution of system tests.
• Development of product enhancements aimed at improved features, improved reliability, supportability and ease of use.
• Act as a primary source of knowledge about the product architecture, implementation and usage.

Key Skills:

No mandatory technical requirements but particularly suitable skills are:

• Substantial computing content in degree course
• Programming experience in C
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux OS, e.g. software development, scripting, etc.
• Knowledge of 'real-time' computing
• Inter-process communication, TCP/IP communication
• Strong problem solving skills
• Ability to communicate with people clearly.
• Focused, independent thinkers, self-starting team-players would be the ideal applicants.

Any work experience or major pieces of coursework related to computing should be described in your application.
