CONS104 - Technical Consultant
Position located in: Apertio Germany office, An den Treptowers 1, 12435 Berlin, Germany
Overview:
Working as a technical consultant, you are responsible for planning and realizing installations/upgrades of our software products for our clients.
Furthermore, you are supporting our sales department in the pre-sales stage: i. e. by answering proposal requests, creating solution descriptions, planning system dimensions and realizing vendor workshops on-site.
Apart from the technical support of our clients, your tasks will be on-site troubleshooting when in the post sales stage (error search, diagnostic and elimination). Project deployments will lead you to interesting locations in Germany, Europe and worldwide.
Your tasks:
- Planning of system integration for live-networks of large mobile network operators.
- Creation and realiziation of acceptance test procedures and testing tools
- Independent planning and realization of type acceptances
- Independent planning and management of sub-projects, including resource and risk management, monitoring, reporting, status meetings etc.
- Creation of training contents and realization of trainings
- 2nd level support on-call duty
- Analysis and solution finding for complex problems while close collaborating with software development, professional services and quality assurance.
Your qualifications:
- Final university/apprenticeship degree, preferential in a technical area (i. e. computer science) or professional IT experience for many years
- practical experience in the working fields named above
- Project/resource management know-how
- Knowledge of TCP/IP based Internet services/protocols like RADIUS, LDAP, DIAMETER, HTTP, SMTP, IMAP, POP3
- Very good knowledge of Unix / Sun Solaris / Linux
- Good programming skills in at least one of the following script/programming languages: Shell, Perl, Ruby, Java
- Basic knowledge of working with relational databases / SQL
- Practical experience in working with load balancers, routers, switches and other network components
- Knowledge of using Microsoft Project
- Very good command of English
In addition, knowledge of infrastructure components and protocols of mobile network operators (3GPP, SS7/MAP, HLR, VLR, SGSN, GGSN, WAP, MMS, SMS, IMS/HSS etc.) would be desirable.
